Jericho Sketchbook

N.C. Pollock and C.A. Cowham

The Jericho Sketchbook was published in 1997 by the late Norman Pollock of Richmond Road, who drew the illustrations, and the late Christine Cowham of Guy Court who wrote the text.

Now out of print, this is the most detailed history of Jericho and we are grateful to Joy Pollock for her permission to reproduce the book.

You can read the contents of the book from the menu on the right. Occasionally the text has been modified from the original to reflect recent developments.

The cover page, produced by Arthur Marsh, and reproduced by permission from Allied Domecq, is from the former inn sign of the Jericho Tavern in Walton Street.

Acknowledgements from the authors:
"We would like to thank Mrs. S. Gurney for her expert typing, patience and speed in coping with a difficult manuscript, John Power for his Foreword, and the generous help given by the following: the Local History Section of Oxford Central Library, Lucy's Engineering Works, Ray Inskeep, Dennis Wise."
