BBC Open Door

In 1974, the BBC broadcast a series called 'Open Door'. The producers invited community groups to suggest ideas for programmes and then supplied them with a BBC camera crew. Maggie Black and Lucy Willis, who then shared a house in Cardigan Street, decided to make a programme on Jericho. This unique historical record, screened in April 1974, is the result — a tale of pigeons and squatters, pub-goers and shoppers, also featuring children at the old St Barnabas school.
